During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Detective Dave Robicheaux searches for the murderer of some looters in the chaos of a devastated New Orleans. As he investigates the shootings, it seems the murdered looters may have invaded the home of the reigning mafia chief and stolen some counterfeit money and diamonds.
