Financial Literacy @ Your Library

According to the Pew Charitable Trusts, more than half of all U.S. households had zero savings in an employer-based 401(k)-type plan or tax-preferred savings plan account. Thanks to a generous grant from FINRA and the American Library Association, Milwaukee Public Library will help by providing tools to help increase financial literacy in our community. Regardless of your age or stage in life, financial literacy is an important topic that affects all of us. New books on a variety of topics including debt reduction, retirement planning, home buying and stock market investing are currently being added to the library shelves. Also, check out the library's Smart Investing website with links to calculators, informational brochures and other tools for exploration. Stay tuned in the weeks and months ahead for a variety of financial education opportunities at your library.
