Strengthening A Fragile Neighborhood (An interview with Librarian Kirsten Thompson)

Branch Manager of Center Street Library, Kirsten Thompson, was interviewed and included in a piece by WUWM's, Susan Bence. Below are the introduction and the audio from the story.

One city block away from the site of the July 4th quadruple homicide in Milwaukee stands the Center Street Library. Kirsten Thompson manages the branch. The Rufus King High School graduate decided to establish a career and raise her family here, when she says many of her classmates moved away to other cities. Now the library she manages does a lot more than lend books and DVDs. It’s an oasis for residents of all ages. Thompson says it even helps people get jobs......
