Even though the weather doesn't support the notion that spring is just around the corner, it's time to start considering your garden.

A backyard garden can be a great way of saving some money off your grocery bill. Of course, the produce doesn't get any fresher then when it's from your own back yard!
East Library is hosting the folks from Milwaukee Urban Gardens who will discuss issues related to gardening such as how to prepare your soil for planting and which crops will be most successful in your own backyard garden in their program called Grow Your Own Groceries.
Space is limited, so call the East Library (414) 286-3058 to register.

I used to grow my own tomatoes and beans. My neighbor decided his dog could eat the beans. I'm very upset that it happened. While I'm not really "mad" over it, I will consider growing ham and roast beef. They thrive in the spring.
