John James Audubon Program

Join MPL for the next program of the Richard E. and Lucile Krug Rare Books Room Educational Series!

On Saturday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Central Library's Rare Book Room, art historian Jeff Jara will present a selection of Audubon mammal prints. These prints are part of MPL's Rare Books Room collection and were published from 1854 to 1855.

Following an illustrated lecture on Audubon's art and the historical context in which he worked, the actual prints will be displayed. These rare color plates depict North American viviparous quadrupeds in stunning detail, often in their natural habitats.
