The Persistence of Place: The art and Milwaukee memories of Thomas Rose

Image from Thomas Rose's book 1018 West Scott StreetIn the latest Rare Books Room Educational Series, visual artist Thomas Rose presents on his limited edition books that are owned by MPL.

In this presentation, he discusses his unique creative process and the technical challenges that went into the creation of the book Time Frames. The book uses a unique combination of a hinged metal bindings and pages that are turned alternately.

The artist will also discuss his book 1018 West Scott Street, which explores the effect of his childhood home in Milwaukee upon his emotional and psychological development.

Thomas Rose's multi-media works, books, architectural collaborations, and projects for public and private spaces are found worldwide.
