Celebrate National Culinary Arts Month in a brand new way! MPL's newest digital collection comes from a familiar source for many long time patrons of the library's Ready Reference service. For many years, librarians clipped recipes from the newspaper and kept them on file at Ready Reference. These recipes allowed the librarians to answer various cooking questions before the heyday of the internet.
The new collection consists of recipes from local sources (mostly the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel) that were collected from through the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. They include ethnic recipes, local favorite foods, and concoctions from area restaurants.
New recipes will continue to be added, so don't forget to check back.
