Then come to Milwaukee Public Library's free Patents 101: How to Do a Patent Search program! Patent searching is the first step in the patent application process; it ensures your invention is new and thus eligible for a patent. A librarian will explain the 7-step search process and talk about recent changes in patent law due to the America Invents Act of 2011.
