Welcome to the Year of the Dragon! Today is the New Lunar Year, also known as the Chinese New Year. It marks the first day of the lunar calendar, and is an event celebrated in China, East Asia and communities across the world. Each new year is assigned one of the twelve Chinese zodiac symbols and 2012 marks the year of the dragon, the fifth animal of the zodiac. Learn more about the Chinese New Year at your Milwaukee Public Library by attending one of the celebrations listed below. We hope your new year is full of peace, good luck and happiness!
