Today is National Siblings Day, a day set aside to celebrate and appreciate all brothers and sisters. The event was started by Claudia Evart and her nonprofit charity the Siblings Day Foundation, honoring her siblings who both died at young ages. So take the time today to give your own brothers or sisters a call or a hug and let them know how much they mean to you.

We here at the Milwaukee Public Library would also recommend checking out a book or two about siblings. There's all sorts of fiction about siblings. From The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt to the Milwaukee-set Whistling in the Dark by Lesley Kagan to classics such as Little Women and The Brothers Karamazov, you can find almost anything to meet your needs at the library. For those more interested in nonfiction, we have plenty of various selections for you to peruse from as well.
