Historic Milwaukee Voter Lists

Milwaukee_Central_Library_Mar10.jpgThe Milwaukee Public Library added 285 microfilm reels of City of Milwaukee Poll Lists of registered voters from 1888 to 2001 to its collection. They are organized by election date, aldermanic ward (1888-1971)/aldermanic district (1972- ) and precinct (1888-1971)/ward (1972- ). Unfortunately, they are not searchable by name, but by aldermanic ward/district and precinct/ward. It can help researchers, students and history buffs discover the changing ethnic demographics of Milwaukee's aldermanic wards/districts and precincts/wards through the decades.

The Central Library's Frank P. Zeidler Humanities Room has some aldermanic ward/district and precinct/ward maps. The Poll Lists microfilm reels are shelved in the microfilm area of the Periodicals Room on the 2nd floor of the Central Library.
