Remember When...Everyone Read the Green Sheet?

| No TrackBacks

GreenSheet_Wide.jpgA third Green Sheet display joins two other displays remembering the Green Sheet, The Milwaukee Journal's popular section that ended 20 years ago. The new display is now on view in the Frank Zeidler Humanities Room on the 2nd floor of the Central Library.
It includes Remember When... local history photos from the Milwaukee Public Library's Historic Photo Collection. The popular photo feature debuted in The Milwaukee Journal's Green Sheet on November 13th, 1963. Library staff and volunteers wrote the captions accompanying the photos. More Remember When... photos can be viewed online in its own digital collection.
The display also includes several There Oughta Be A Law! (TOBAL) funnies (comic strips) using suggestions from a Green Sheet reader and other materials.
You can register online or call Ready Reference at (414) 286-3011 for the May 10th Remember When...Everyone Read the Green Sheet program with former editor Dan Chabot.
