The Milwaukee Public Library is proud to announce the launch of its new Facebook page.

This is not MPL's first foray into the world of social networking. The library already has a MySpace page focused on teens.

This new Facebook page is geared towards adults and is a great way of keeping up with all the various things that are going on at your library. You will need to be a member of Facebook to view the page. If you are not a member already, signing up is free.

So make sure you check out Facebook. Just search for "Milwaukee Public Library", and become a fan!

The Milwaukee County Federated Library System is pleased to bring social networking to the CountyCat Catalog. As of October 1st, content from LibraryThing for Libraries is now available from CountyCat. This means means that you can read other patron's reviews of library items as well as post your own reviews. Another exciting enhancement is the addition of the "You May Also Like" function which lists other similar titles you may find interesting. Moreover, other editions of the title as well as tag clouds complete the greatly enhanced CountyCat record. So take a look at the new Library 2.0 version of CountyCat!
